Igor Firsov was born in Leningrad (now St-Petersburg) in 1958. In 1981 he graduated from (the) Leningrad Institute of Engineering and Construction (Department of Architecture). 1981-85 worked for Leningrad Research Institute of Experimental Design. In 1985 started his work at the department of the Institute in Novi Urengoy, Siberia.

In Novi Urengoy several of Igor Firsov's were realized which played a vital part in building up image of the young northern city. Among them were: "Oktyabr" movie theatre, Administration of Domestic Affairs building, as well as a number of dwelling and public buildings.

In 1988 Igor Firsov returned to his native city to found "Art-atelier", one of the first private architectural ateliers in St-Petersburg. The time of Perestroyka was the hardest for the atelier since flow of the governmental orders exhausted, and the private market had just started to develop.

During the years 1994-1999 the Atelier developed its specialization - design of private dwelling houses. Here creative architectural idea of the author is supported by the professionalism of experienced engineers who are able to find optimal solution for any construction of any complexity.

Igor Firsov has always been known not as an "office artist", but as a practical architect who spends much time at a building site and is in earnest about practical realization of his ideas.

Currently Igor Firsov's Architectural Atelier acts out as the Main contractor and assumes managing entire work complex, from designing and building capital constructions and engineering networks of private houses to realization of original ideas of interior.

By now more than 100 design projects of private houses have been created, and here a wide geographical selection might be observed: Moscow city and Moscow region, St-Petersburg, Leningrad region, Ekaterinburg, Tyumen, Kazan, Minsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ulyanovsk, Perm, Nizhni Novgorod, Sochi, Krasnodar, Murmansk, Kaluga, Tashkent, Tbilisi...
